Any Tom Brown fans out there?
 

I found his books when I was a boy, and they had a big infuence on my outlook. I would go out on weekends and experiment with the stuff written there.

I don't know if I would class him as a survivalist.

Any other Tom Brown fans? I think he was ahead of his time.

I have most of his books. They are a treasured resource. The great dream would be to one day attend his classes. Bx3

The one I have is a Two-N-One edition.

Volume 1 - Field guide to wilderness survival

Volume 2 - Field guide to nature observation & tracking

It's pretty good. One of my better survival manuals & got it in a
library sale think I only paid 1.00 for it.

I remember seeing him on TV about 15 years ago with some of his students.
Pretty impressive tracker.

They put him to a challenge on the show.
They were in a wilderness area and a reporter was told that he could go
in any direction... walk, run, wade through creeks... whatever, for 20 minutes.
After the 20 minutes, he had to hide somewhere.

The cameraman took Tom away in a car and there was not anyone left to document where he went to eliminate the possibility of cheating.

Tom was given 1hr to track him and find him... after 40 min. of tracking he reached into some thick bushes and you see the reporter stand up.
He couldn't believe it.

Serious cheating at "Hide an Go Seek"!!!
